This is a component of your blood that’s rich in white blood cells and growth factors. PRP can encourage healing and has been used to try to help the healing of damaged ligaments, tendons, joints, muscle and skin.
When you’re young, your skin is usually elastic and plump. It normally heals quickly when it’s injured. As you age, the fibres that support your skin and provide flexibility can begin to degrade. At the same time, our skin can lose hyaluronic acid, a substance that helps it retain moisture. The combination of these processes can lead to sagging skin, wrinkles and lines. The skin’s texture may be thinner, and you might notice more blood vessels under the surface. Your skin may even get irritated more easily, and wounds can take longer to heal.
Many people try to correct the signs of ageing once they’re noticeable. However, many skin rejuvenation products can have difficulty being absorbed deeply enough to be effective. Topical treatments may also contain chemicals that aren’t ideal for your body. Most PRP facial treatments take about 45 minutes. Before the treatment, patients should stop taking any medications that influence platelet function, including some herbs and over-the-counter pain medications. You should consult with your physician before discontinuing any medication, though.
Be gentle with your skin following the vampire facial procedure. It may be slightly red, tender or bruised. You may also feel tingling or pressure where the needles were introduced. These side effects are temporary. Using moisturizers that contain natural ingredients can help replenish the moisture barrier, which is essential for healing.
Because skin cells need time to develop, you might not notice the results right away. The full effects of a PRP skin procedure can typically show up within a few weeks or months. The benefits can last for up to 18 months. It is recommended for people to have maintenance treatments to maintain their results.

A registered nurse, doctor or phlebotomist will take a small blood sample from you. Then, the blood is spun through a centrifuge to separate the platelets that are reintroduced into your skin.
