EGFs stands for external growth factors. This new technology can be used as a powerful alternative to PRP (platelet rich plasma).
EGFs work by supplementing the natural growth factor production that decreases as we age. It can reverse the cell ageing process, fade scars, and boost the body’s natural repair process for hair follicles and skin.
External growth factors contain a high concentration of conditioned media that retain specific growth factors, cytokines, and interleukins. This technology was originally discovered through wound healing and cell regeneration therapy in 3rd degree burn victims. EGFs use advanced cell sorting technology, allowing for greater penetration and effectiveness.

A maximum of only two treatments per patient is currently available – this is due to the demand and very limited supply of the product.
Patients who opt for external growth factors are looking for a powerful alternative to PRP. Unlike PRP, EGFs is already prepared in a sterile vial and does not require blood to be taken from the patient. The prepared EGFs is drawn up in a small needle by a registered nurse and is then the entire scalp is micro-needed. This hair loss treatment is ideal for patients with a very low pain tolerance.
We also use a technique called micro-needling on the entire scalp, which can also encourage blood circulation, helping stimulate hair follicles.
Following the procedure, in some rare circumstances, your scalp may be mildly sore, but many patients don’t experience any discomfort. You can go about your daily activities immediately. Just don’t shampoo your hair or do strenuous exercise for 12 hours after the treatment.
About 40 percent of women can experience hair loss and thinning by the time they’re 50. In Women, the thinning usually starts at the part line, and they may develop sparse areas at the temple.
