I’ve done some shows for a few years off and on at the radio station I work at, and I will be doing more recordings for Mission Possible on the talking information center soon, so that will be fun. Anyway, I use adobi audition for editing, I have some sight so I can use the zooming in and out aspect. I also use jaws though, so sometimes I have a bit of trouble doing more intricate edits, as it were. I want to learn more about editing, specifically taking out clipping in the audio file and all that, but I haven’t really gotten much help. This web site looks very very useful though, and could help me in improving several things about my shows. I look forward to reading more into this.

It’s easy to download episodes and listen. I’m getting a time slot on ACB radio’s treasure trove very soon run by American Council of the blind. I’ll be able to play horror radio dramas on there and can’t wait to start planning to feature some wonderful podcasts. Contact me if you are interested in possibly having your radio drama played on the station.

As sight impairment can often accompany hearing impairment, particularly amongst older people, I am always aware of this when I record. When I speak I try not to mumble or talk too fast. When I play background music I make sure it’s not so loud it drowns out the narrative. My mum is very old and and has both sight and hearing impairments. She was one of my early inspirations for starting a podcast, so I used her as a Guinea pig in the early days. I have had good feedback from two listeners who used Victor Reader Stream so I reckon I must be getting it about right!
